The reissue of "Something to Write Home About" will be released digitally on August 23 and physically on September 20 through Polyvinyl Record Co. The newly remastered LP will feature an expanded edition, including a 28-page full-color booklet and a second LP containing a mix of 12 rare or previously unreleased demos. These demos, including the original four-track acoustic recordings by singer-songwriter Matt Pryor, offer a unique glimpse into the band's creative process and the evolution of their iconic sound.

A Homecoming Tour and a Celebratory Music Video

The digital release of the reissue coincides with the start of The Get Up Kids' North American headlining tour, which includes three sold-out nights at the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles. During these special shows, the band will perform the album in its entirety, allowing fans to relive the magic of the original release.To mark the occasion, the band has released the official music video for the album opener, "Holiday." "When we set out to write what would become the album Something to Write Home About, I never imagined all the places it would take us," Pryor shares. "From touring around the world, being on MTV's 120 Minutes, to opening for childhood heroes."Pryor also reminisces about the band's early days, recalling the energy and drive that fueled their creative process. "When we walked into that LA studio, we were very prepared. This was the first time we actually made real demos for a record, and I think it shows in the final product."
